Elite Dance Studio is NW Portland's premier dance studio, dedicated to providing Jazz, Ballet Hip-Hop and Tap dancers with professional training in a positive and inspiring atmosphere. Our devoted staff encourage students to explore the art of dance through self expression, movement and music, while promoting life lessons such as respect, self discipline, commitment and hard work. As the new dance season begins, Elite Dance Studio will be bursting with energy, ready to welcome excited young dancers back to the studio. This year’s classes promise a vibrant array of styles, from ballet and tap to hip-hop and jazz, catering to a wide range of interests and skill levels. With fresh choreography and innovative teaching methods, the studio aims to inspire creativity, build confidence, and nurture a love for dance in every child who steps through our doors. The season’s offerings also include introductory classes for beginners, ensuring that newcomers have a welcoming and supportive environment to start their dance journey.

Our popular BOYS ONLY Hip Hop (ages 10+) class is back this season on Wednesday from 8:00-8:45.

Parents are encouraged to enroll their children soon to secure spots in their preferred classes, as many classes are already full. Each class is designed to offer not just technical training but also a sense of community and fun, making it a great way for kids to make new friends and stay active. In June we will host our end of season recitals providing students with opportunities to showcase their progress and celebrate their achievements. With a dedicated team of instructors and a passion for dance education, this season promises to be an unforgettable experience for all young dancers.

• Jazz - These classes will include tradition as well as modern styles and terminology while also incorporating basic ballet technique
• Ballet - These classes teach classic ballet technique both barre and center floor. Ballet is a must for the serious dancer!
• Hip-Hop - These fast pace, high energy classes include the latest in street style dance while incorporating fundamental jazz movements.
• Tap - These classes will teach traditional style tap, as well as basic jazz movements. Class emphasis will be on sounds, beats and rhythms.
• Pre Dance - These dance classes teach your 4-5 year old basic movement through the use of the dancer’s imagination. They encourage rhythm and body awareness while focusing on balance, arm and leg coordination, jumping and counting skills.
• Pointe - Placement classes are offered by teacher’s approval only.

Elite’s auditions for our Performing Company Teams and Competitive Company Teams will be held on Sunday June 1st. We will have a company informational parent/dancer meeting on Tuesday May 27th at 7 pm. Company dancers are trained in Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet and Jazz.Some examples of performance events/opportunities for our Performing Company Dancers are: Blazer halftime performances, Jr. Rose Festival Parade, Holiday Show and a Broadway master class. Competitions/conventions we have attended in the past have been Onstage New York, Thunderstruck and Jump. Historically we have danced in a parade in Disneyland in April. Our performing company went to New York last December and attended a Broadway stage performance and show, danced in Times Square and attended a Rockette master class and show.

Competitive Company dancers attend about 8 conventions/competitions each season with the option to attend several more. The conventions offer opportunities to compete in solo, duo or trio routines along with their team routine. Some of our team bonding experiences are zoo trips, fall group photo session, pumpkin carving and overnight sleepovers at the studio. This season we will compete at Nuvo, Starpower, Jump, 24 Seven, Onstage and Fly Dance.

Our competitive teams consistently receive awards in the following categories: Best In Studio, Golden Ticket, Regional Champion, Entertainment Award, and Top Choreographer.
